The building system
Wood has been the main construction material for years. In America, Canada and Scandinavia timber frame (HSB) is the most frequently used construction method and has been perfected more and more. Contrary to many peoples belief, the quality of HSB is at least as good as traditional construction and when the house is constructed you won’t see any difference. A lot of the preparation takes place inside the factory which makes fast completion possible. The advantages of prefabrication inside the factory are obvious:
- not depending on weather which means no delay can be caused by this
- thanks to constant conditions in the factory the quality is constant and guaranteed
- thanks to (computer) regulated production every part is produces with more accuracy
- the construction time itself will be a lot less since the different parts only have to be fixed to each other
- most of the moisture had already disappeared in the factory. Everyone living in a newly constructed property knows that it takes months before all the moisture used in the concrete, cement, plaster etc. has disappeared
- the costs will not exceed the upfront agreed budget because during the actual construction no adjustments can or will be made. Therefore good preparation is essential!
